The shape of the leg is inspired by the stem. By removing a few outer layers of the tree, while maintaining the cylinder shape, created a strong visualized character with simple geometric elements. The constraining between the half cylinder elements provide a sturdy cross structure that is relates to everyday surroundings. Intitally was an idea of three flat sheets, combining to create a collasapble volume. It then developed into a solid object and has a concept of fascination of light and colour, reflection and contrast, flat surfaces and blown up volume. The chair can be rotated to avoid the sun glare or to talk with a group of friends. The blending of the high back office chair language and outdoor conditions created a new typology of chair. The perforated metal sheet allows water to drain and reduces the temperature of the seating surface.
