Stem Chair
Design Plant Exhibition/2022
The idea of the project is to focus on the tree rather than the wood, by questioning about material value and the chair production process.
The shape of the leg is inspired by the stem. By removing a few outer layers of the tree, while maintaining the cylinder shape, created a strong visualized character with simple geometric elements. The constraining between the half cylinder elements provide a sturdy cross structure that is relates to everyday surroundings.
